The Prayer Shawl Ministry consists of a group of caring women who crochet or knit prayer shawls which are given to members in need of a special touch of love. Prayers of comfort and healing are woven into the shawls as they create them and members who receive them often report that they feel the unconditional love and healing presence of God. Heartwarming thank you cards and a deepening of their own prayer life are benefits that prayer shawl members readily share during their monthly gatherings. They also create infant baptismal shawls that are given to every child baptized at First Lutheran.
